“Mari’s Secret Shop,” a PR event for Korea’s Gangneung City hosted and organized by the Gangwon Tourism Foundation and Gangneung City, will be held as a limited-time pop-up store at OPENBASE SHIBUYA. The event is being operated by FILL THE FEEL Co., Ltd., headquartered in Seoul, Korea, together with MXN JAPAN Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo.

The event is built around the concept of a mysterious variety store opened in central Tokyo by “Jangjamari,” a folkloric creature said to have come from Gangneung. Gangneung is widely recognized as one of Korea’s leading tourism cities, following Seoul, Busan, and Jeju. Located in the eastern part of Gangwon Province, the city is known for its natural setting surrounded by both mountains and the sea. With tourism, culture, and food at its core, Gangneung is loved by both domestic and international visitors as a Korean regional city offering a highly curated lifestyle experience.

At the event, visitors will be able to explore the charm of Gangneung through a themed space inspired by the story of Jangjamari, a creature long associated with the city. The venue will offer a simulated shopping experience featuring Gangneung’s specialty products, along with exhibition zones and photo zones designed to showcase the city’s culture and appeal in an immersive way.

The pop-up store will run from January 29 through February 1, 2026, with opening hours from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The venue is OPENBASE SHIBUYA 1F and B1F, 14-13 Udagawacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

Inside the venue, the Gangneung Goods Zone will be organized around the themes of Sweet & Taste, Nature & Adventure, and K-culture. Through miniature displays highlighting the city’s attractions, food, and activities, as well as an interactive shopping-style experience, visitors will be able to discover Gangneung in an engaging and approachable way.

In the Goods Zone, visitors can create their own version of “My Gangneung” by filling a pouch with limited-edition goods inspired by Gangneung’s specialty items and main character. Guests who participate in on-site activities will also receive a keychain.

The Gangneung Connection Zone will present exhibitions themed around Gangneung’s stories, night sky, mountains, and sea, allowing visitors to experience the emotional atmosphere and landscape of the city more deeply.

During the event period, visitors who make a reservation in advance through the official LINE account will be able to participate in a lucky draw featuring premium prizes. All giveaway items are available in limited quantities and are restricted to one item per person.
